“Won’t Allow Air Conditioning, TV For Nawaz Sharif In Jail,” Says Imran Khan - TNBC USA

On Sunday, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan went on a visit to the United States, has addressed the country’s diaspora in Washington. During his address, PM Khan mentioned that former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif only eats home-made foods in his air-conditioned prison, which also has a TV set in it too. 

However, he claims to make sure that the former Pakistani Prime Minister does not receive any such luxury treatment in prison. 

During his 50-minute speech in Washington, PM Khan was quoted saying, “Nawaz Sharif wants food from home in jail, he wants air conditioning in jail. But in a country where half the population has no air conditioning or TV, what kind of punishment this is?”

“I am going to go back and make sure there is no air conditioning or TV for Nawaz Sharif, who is a criminal. I know (PML-N leader) Maryam Bibi will make some noise, but I say to her, return the money. It’s as simple as that,” added PM Khan. 

The 69-year-old Nawaz Sharif has been accused in the Al Azizia Steel Mills Case and sentenced to 7-year in jail. Mr. Sharid is serving the jail sentence in Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore.

Which addressing the Pakistani diaspora at Capital One Arena Stadium, PM Khan made these strict remarks, attended by over 30000 Pakistanis. 

Continues his attack against the former Pakistani Prime Minister, PM Khan alleged that the PML-N leader was “propped up” by a military dictator.

PM Khan continued, “Nawaz Sharif was propped up by military dictator. Shahbaz Sharif was propped up because he was his brother.”

He further said that the Pakistani Government has already started seizing their illegal properties, claims that Mr. Sharid has totally looted the nation when he was in power.

“We have started seizing their undeclared properties, the billions they have taken overseas. We are in talks with other governments to bring that looted wealth back to Pakistan. We will not let accountability go,” added PM Khan. 

Meanwhile, the Pakistani Prime Minister is scheduled to meet the United States President Donald Trump at the White House. PM Khan will be accompanied by Pakistan Army Chief and Lieutenant General Hameed.
