On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin has discussed the conflict of Syria over a telephonic call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, invited him to visit Russia at the earliest, said sources.
President Putin invited the Turkish President “for a working visit in the coming days”.
The President’s Office said in a statement that “the invitation was accepted” by President Erdogan to visit Russia soon.
It is believed that the two top leaders will emphasize “the need to prevent confrontations between units of the Turkish army and Syrian armed forces.”
Sources informed that the telephonic conversation was initiated by the Turkish President.
President Putin has raised concerns in the phone call about “terrorists attempting to break free and infiltrate neighboring countries” amidst attacks by Ankara against Kurdish-held regions in Northern Syria.
