US Should Not Spend A Dollar on Pakistan Till it Takes Step Against Terror: Nikki Haley

The US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley claimed, Pakistan is persistently docking the terrorist group that revolving around and killing American soldiers. , professing that Washington should not spare Islamabad even with a dollar until it directs the issue. Haley, the first Indian-American ever designated to a Cabinet position in any US Presidential administration, claimed that the US did not provide any financial aid to the countries which helps to damage the national security of America.

Haley told the US magazine ‘The Atlantic’, “I think there should be a strategic view on which countries we partner with, which ones we count on to work with us on certain things, and move forward accordingly. I think we just blindly allow mone going y to keep without thinking that this is real leverage. We have to use it ”.

She added, “ The one example I’ll give you is, look at Pakistan. Giving them over a billion dollars, and they continue to harbour terrorists that turn around and kill our soldiers -that’s never okay. We shouldn’t even give them a dollar until they correct it. Use the billion dollars. That’s not a small amount of change”.

Haley will resign as the US diplomat at the end of this year. US President Donald Trump recommended Chief State Department representative, as well as a former Fox News journalist Heather Nauert as the successor of Haley.

In October, Haley declared that she was quitting the post by the end of the year. The 46-year old former South Carolina governor has posted around two years in the post.

She said Pakistan should be told, “you have to do these things before we will even start to help you with your military or start to help you on counter-terrorism”.

While she was asked about the if she declined the agreement then foreign assistance can turn an adversary into a fellow country more complementary than it would be different. Haley said, “no, I think it absolutely can. I think that you do have to use it as leverage ”.
