On Thursday, the White House claims that the United States has a very good and developing relationship with India.
During a press release, the White House Counsellor Kellyanne Conway told sources that “we have a very good and growing relationship with (Prime Minister) Mr (Narendra) Modi and the Indian government.”
Ms. Conway was replying to a query on the rejection by the Government of Indian that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has requested the United States President Donald Trump to arbitrate or mediate with Pakistan over the issue related to Kashmir.
Earlier this week, President Trump has surprised India during a joint media meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan by saying that the Indian Prime Minister had urged for mediation over Kashmir issue. He continued that PM Modi has requested for this during their meeting on sidelines of the G20 Summit in Japan’s Osaka.
Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar claims that PM Modi has never asked President Trump for it as the issue related to Kashmir was never been discussed between the two leaders. Centre further claims that Kashmir is a bilateral issue and it has nothing to be done with the President of the United States.
