On Tuesday, Iran claims that a decision of the United States to impose sanctions on the supreme leader and other top officials of the country has permanently closed the way to diplomacy between Washington and Tehran.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Abbas Mousavi posted in a Twitter post, “Imposing useless sanctions on Iran’s Supreme Leader (Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the commander of Iran’s diplomacy (Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif) is the permanent closure of the path of diplomacy.”
On Monday, the United States President Donald Trump has targeted Khamenei and other top officials of Iran with sanctions, taking an unparalleled step to increase pressed on the country after Iran eliminated the US “SPy” drone.
Washington reports to impose sanctions on Foreign Minister of Iran, Javad Zarid by this week.
