This year, India and China will have multiple engagements in ministerial-level, along with a  meeting of the foreign ministers, for preparing the ground for the second unofficial conference between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a Senior Indian diplomat Chinese President Xi Jinping in China.

Concerning to reporters in Guiyang on the sidelines of an event organized on the sidelines of 2019 “ China International Big Data Expo”. At the Indian Embassy, in Beijing, Mission Deputy Chief Acquino Vimal said the Indian foreign minister will take tour China this year, but the venue and the proceeding of the minister’s meeting are yet to be settled.

Pointing a second unofficial meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US president Xi, later this year, he said, a sequence of engagements were drafted between the two countries earlier to the high-profile summit.

Mr. Vimal said, “we will have many ministerial-level engagements before the high-level meeting ”.

He also added, “there is a proposal to have a visit that is definitely there for this year and we will have to actually prepare for this…and that will be done by various other ministerial-level engagements ”.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chinese President Xi Jinping met on the sidelines of the   G-20 summit in Buenos Aires in November last year.

The two leaders met twice after their unofficial summit in the Chinese city of Wuhan in April 2018, once at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit organized in June in Quindo in China and the second time at the BRICS summit in Johannesburg, South Africa in July.

According to Mr. Vimal, “ both nations (India and China) are very keen to engage…and so much can be done between the two countries”.

He said, “ the main meeting will be of the foreign ministerial level and we are going to have the next high-level mechanism on the people-to-people exchange between India and China”.

Chinese President Xi has congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi before the official announcement of the outcomes of elections arranged in India.

The Chinese President took a vow for working with Narendra Modi for taking the bilateral bonding to a different height. He also uttered satisfaction at the strong measured movement of development in the relations between India and China in recent years with the joint efforts of both sides.
