On Thursday, another explosion took place in a town east in Sri Lanka’s Colombo, but there were no reported casualties, informs a police spokesperson Ruman Gunasekera. He continued that the police were investigating the root of the blast on empty land, situated behind the Magistrate’s Court in Pugoda, 40 km.

Mr. Gunasekera said, “There was an explosion behind the court, we are investigating,” adding that it was not a controlled explosion just like other blasts in recent days.

Today, the blast was reported at a time of high tension in the country, following suicide bomber attacks on Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka, which took lives of over 359 people and wounded around 500.

More details are awaited.
