A couple from Louisiana have more than million reasons to be grateful in this ‘Thanksgiving Day’ as they discovered a long-lost jackpot-winning lottery ticket with only 2 weeks left to claim the prize.

The US couple, Harold and Tina Ehrenberg has found $1.8 million winning ticket that won the southern US states’ June 6 Lotto draw, while they were cleaning their house.

As per the statement by Louisiana Lottery, Tina said that “we have family coming into town for Thanksgiving, so I was cleaning up the house and found a few lottery tickets on my nightstand that we hadn’t checked.”

The couple has checked the website of the lottery and soon found their one ticket matched with all the numbers listed, and can claim their prize within just two weeks remaining of 180-day limits.

After Federal and State taxes, the US couple takes home $1,274,311 and they plan to keep the amount for their retirement.

Tina continued that “we don’t have any plans to buy anything crazy or go on any big trips.”

A single winner in the Simpsonville’s South Carolina took home a massive $1.5 billion in Mega Millions US lottery jackpot last month, drafted a previous record set at $656 million in March 2012.
