New York has placed the record of world’s tallest politician, after holding Guinness World Records for being the most Instagrammed city and most billionaires.
Robert Cornegy Jr. is a former professional basketball player, who is also a city councilman representing Brooklyn. He is 53-year-old and 6.10-ft tall, reports source.
Cornegy said, “What I went through to get this measurement was borderline ridiculous.” He has received the designation at an event at City Hall, on Wednesday.
“But I think it was worth it to bring that designation to New York – and Brooklyn,” added Cornegy.
Getting certified as “the world’s tallest (male) politician” was not that easy. Guinness World Records holder also to submit official height verification.
He went to his former trainer at St. John’s University, but the Guinness didn’t like the tools that the trainer used. Cornegy then turned to the doctors at Interfaith that is within his Council district.
While he was lying on the floor, the height of Robert Cornegy Jr. was recorded that gave a greater measurement as it relieves pressure on the vertebrae and while he stood up his heels and shoulder against the wall, records 6 foot 10 inches.
Guinness officials report that Cornegy is the official record-holder now, beating Louis Gluckstein, a London politician who died in the year 1979, by two and a half inches.
