On Friday The US commerce department has announced it will Saddle the apps with some technical restrictions from the US app stores on Sunday. This order is to protect the national security and data privacy concerns

The POTUS has pressured the Chinese owned Tiktok to sell it to US domestic company. It is however not clear how it will affect the deal which was recently struck with California tech Giant Oracle with the Tiktok. Tiktok expressed their disappointment on the move and said they will not stop challenging the Trump’s unjustified order over them.

The Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said in a Statement, ” At the president’s direction, we have taken significant action to combat China’s malicious collection of American Citizen’s personal data while promoting our national values, democratic rules-based norms, and aggressive enforcement of US laws and regulations”

The Banning order on WeChat which has millions of US users who reply on the app to stay connected with the people and companies of China has to end payment through its service as of Sunday and prohibits it from getting techinal services from the vendors that could pose a serious threat to their business functions.

On the Other hand, Tiktok has 100 Million users in the US, the technical limitations imposed wont get into effect until November 12. Access to the app might be possible if certain safeguards are to be placed.
