Donald Trump’s Administration has no plans to limit H-1B Work Visas for countries that forces foreign firms to store data locally, informed the State Department.
On Wednesday, Reuters informed that the United States had told India that it considers limiting H-1B Visas for nations that forces foreign companies to store data locally. H-1B Visas programme issues the United States Visas only to skilled foreign workers.
A State Department spokesperson said in a statement that “the Trump Administration has no plans to place caps on H-1B work visas for nations that force foreign companies to store data locally.”
While President Trump Administration’s “Buy American Hire American Executive Order” calls for a broad review of the United States Work Visa programs, including H-1B Visa programme, it didn’t targeted at a specific country, she claims. It is “completely separate from our ongoing discussions with India about the importance of ensuring the free flow of data across borders,” added the spokesperson.
