Mark Esper Has Been Confirmed As New Defense Secretary By United States Senate - TNBC USA

On Tuesday, the United States Senate has confirmed Mark Esper as the new Defense Secretary, around 7-months after the surprise resignation of Defense Secretary Jim Mattis over policy distinction with the United States President Donald Trump.

The 55-year-old Mark Esper was the Secretary of the United States Army since 2017. He has been receiving overwhelming bipartisan approval from the US Senate, and the Pentagon claims that he is likely to take the oath of office on Tuesday. 

President Trump has monitored Mr. Esper to head up the Pentagon when his previous select, Patrick Shanahan, has withdrew for personal reasons and resigned as Acting Secretary, have served as the interim role for around six months.
