A day after PM Modi and President Donald Trump addresses a gathering of around 50000 people in Houston, a top US Senator John Cornyn has said that India is one of the “most important friends and partners” of America.

On Monday, Republican Senator John Cornyn was quoted saying, “India is one of our most important friends and partners.”

He is a senior US Senator from Texas, also the Co-Chair and founder of the Senate India Caucus, which is the single country-specific caucus in the American Senate.

Mr. Cornyn acknowledged himself as a “strong friend” both from inside and outside of India. Both nations share common values of democracy, freedom, and free enterprise, looking forward to boost their relationship, said the US Senator.

PM Modi told John Cornyn over a tweet, “In you, India has a valuable friend!”

Congressman Pete Olson has also echoed Mr. Cornyn. He said, “The United States and India share a bond that was made even stronger” by the ‘Howdy, Modi!’ Event.”

The Indian Prime Minister re-tweets Pete Olson saying, “It is people like you who play a key role in bringing our nations closer. Thank you for coming to #HowdyModi. Your Indian attire looked lovely!”

A large of US Senators also attended the mega event in Houston on Sunday and often tweeted about its success.

According to Legistorm, which tracks the tweets of the US Congress Members, #HowdyModi was the sixth top hashtag of the week in Congress.
