The officials reported on Sunday that a man’s death has been reclassified as a homicide after a medical examiner found that the man had been shot in the head in his apartment on the West Side. During an autopsy, the medical examiner discovered he had been shot and ruled the death a homicide.

According to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office, “Police were called to the 1000 block of North Leamington Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood around 12:15 p.m. Officers found a man who appeared to have head trauma, according to police. Detectives began a death investigation”.
