On Monday, a 6-year-old girl died after she was hit in the head by a golf ball, which her father played, reports authorities.
The minor was sitting in a parked golf cart on the way to the left of where her father was practicing, informed Orem Police Lt. Trent Colledge.
The two were in Orem’s Sleepy Ridge Golf Course in Utah, said police.
She was immediately lifted to a nearby hospital in Salt Lake City but was in critical condition and died from severe injuries later in the evening.
The victim girl was identified as Aria Hill.
Her uncle told sources that the girl was her father’s “golfing buddy”.
David Smith was quoted saying, “She loved doing it and had a good time with it all,” adding that “it was one of the things that they would do together. It was something that was really important to them and something they did all the time.”
This incident is considered as a tragic accident, said Colledge.
He continued that the police are not following charges and have not released her father yet.
More details are awaited.
