On Monday, US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump spent nearly an hour at the Taj Mahal in Agra. The US President, his wife and family, are in India for a two-day visit. Trump, along with his love, enjoyed the magnificent marble monument in the glow of the fading sun.
The Trumps walked hand-in-hand into the 16th-century Mughal-era mausoleum, known worldwide as the monument of love. It was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan for his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. During the visit, Trump wrote in the visitor’s book, “The Taj Mahal inspires awe. A timeless testament to the rich and diverse beauty of Indian culture. Thank you, India.”
President Trump once owned a casino in Atlantic City, named Taj Mahal. The spot was cleared before their visit. Mr Trump and wife walked in a relaxed way on the manicured lawns, alongside spruced up fountains, on their guided tour of the Taj Mahal.
Half-way to the monument, both of them stopped at the famed loveseat and smiled for the cameras, holding hands. Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner also took a tour of the monument.
The US President and his family arrived at Ahmedabad Airport on Monday afternoon and was greeted by PM Modi with a warm hug. Before visiting Taj Mahal, President Trump and PM Modi addressed a massive gathering at the newly constructed cricket stadium, the world’s biggest.
