Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential candidate, has recently taken a jibe at US President Donald Trump for his reaction towards the coronavirus outbreak. His comments come after President Trump criticized the former vice president’s ability to lead.
Biden said, “This is a guy who doesn’t know what he’s doing.”
“He doesn’t know how to run the country; he is making us more unsafe the way he is responding to the coronavirus. He has done virtually nothing well that I can see,” he added.
On Wednesday, Trump held a news conference where he discussed his administration’s response to the ongoing coronavirus epidemic. He also announced that Vice President Mike Pence would lead the White House’s coronavirus task force.
During the conference, Trump criticized President Barack Obama saying he couldn’t handle the Ebola outbreak in 2014 efficiently. Trump also criticized Obama for not calling a full travel ban and called him a “stubborn dope”.
Biden has achieved a much-needed victory in the South Carolina primary. The report of the first death in the U.S came on Saturday in Washington, and the Trump administration has decided to provide testing kits for thousands of patients to prepare for a possible outbreak in the country.
Biden’s comment comes as a hit back to President Trump as he challenged Biden that he will not be running the government. “He’s just going to be sitting at a home someplace,” Trump added. Biden says he wants to debate with Trump and show his ability to lead and that he has the potentiality to become the president. Trump often insults Biden as “Sleepy Joe Biden.” Hitting back to that comment, Joe said, “I want people to see me standing next to him and him standing next to me. We will see who is sleep.”
