Firstly, the applicants are divided into 20 groups named as dockets The dockets of California has been labelled as A, C, and Z. Texas gets D docket. Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia supply Docket I.
The total checking procedure is quite profound. A subcommittee is formed with five admissions officers who are appointed to read the files of the dockets. The first reader probes the transcripts, test scores, essays, recommendation letters and other information comprehending the race or ethnicity. After that, the readers have to make a summary sheet defining the ratings and comments on a scale based on 1 to 4 ratings for the profile categories such as academic, extracurricular, athletic and personal. A personal category is an evaluating position which justifies the ability of leadership and character. The applicants get preliminary and overall ratings by the reader.
Files are sent to the second reader of the subcommittee for the second set of ratings based on the special talent on the various field. After these process, the interviewer send their reports.
