India's 13th President, Pranab Mukherjee passes away at 84 - TNBC USA

The former President and a veteran congressperson, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee who was admitted at the Indian Army’s Research and Referral Hospital in New Delhi on 10th August for the removal of the clot from the Brain, breathed his last breath today.

The news was confirmed by his son Abhijit Mukherjee on social site.

Pranab Mukherjee was in the ventilator support for the last few due to his lung infection. However, It was from Saturday his condition deteriorated further when Sri Pranab Mukherjee went for a septic shock due to the developed lung infection.

Born on 11th December 1935, in Mirati, a village in Birbhum district in West Bengal, Mukherjee political career forded about five decades. During the span he held various key positions in the congress party at the time of the congress rule under Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, P V Narasimha Rao, and Manmohan Singh.

Later on, the aced leader served India’s 13th president for a span from 2012-2017. A mighty administrator, keen scholar, and history aficionado, Mukherjee has ensured that he leaves his mark on the presidency. He has made it easier for common people to visit the Rashtrapati Bhavan. In 2008 he was conferred with Padma Vibhushan and later in 2019 he was awarded the highest civilian honor the “Bharat Ratna” by the current president of India Ram Nath Kovind.

The PM, Narendra Modi in his tweet showed his gratitude to the exquisite politician and he also mentioned repeatedly the guidance and teachings he received from the former president in his first term in the Prime Ministerial office.
