Over ‘Fire Safety Risk’, Apple Recalls Few MacBook Pro Units

On Thursday, Apple Inc claims to recall a limited number of MacBook Pro units of 15-inch as its batteries are resistant to overheating and pretense a “fire safety risk”.

MacBook Pro units were sold between September 2015 to February 2017, which can be identified by the serial number of the product, said the company in a statement.

“To confirm which model you have, choose About This Mac from the Apple menu in the upper-left corner of your screen. If you have a ‘MacBook Pro ((Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)’, enter your computer’s serial number on the program page to see if it is eligible for a battery replacement,” added the statement.

Apple has asked its customers to limit using the affected MacBook Pro units, said the recall doesn’t affect any other units neither Mac Notebooks.

In the past, Samsung has eliminated its Galaxy Note 7, within 2 months since its unveiled, after it caught fire due to battery explosion.
