US President Donald Trump told that Google CEO Sundar Pichai, who was previously indirectly accused by him to boost the Chinese military, has ensured him that he is completely “ committed” to the US security.
The US President posted on Twitter after a White House meeting, “ just met with @sundarpichai, President of @Google, who is obviously doing quite well”. The US President also added, “He stated strongly that he is totally committed to the U.S. Military, not the Chinese Military ”.
Earlier this month, the US President complained about the business strategies of Google in China were, “ helping China and their military”.
There was also condemnation from general Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who told Congress “ the work that Google is doing in China is indirectly benefiting”, Chinese armed forces.
Us top military officer has also pleaded to the US tech giants to lift the work on the next generation of 5G wireless technology so that US markets are not dependent on Chinese innovators, like the paramount telecom firm Huawei.
The general told, dominating 5G is “ in our national interest”. The US government is pondering the potential opening of the doors to the Chinese government through the emergence of Huawei technology stabbing of US communications.
A Google representative told Pichai had “ productive conversations” with the US President about “ investing in the future of the American workforce, the growth of emerging technologies and our ongoing commitment to working with the U.S. government”.
