On Monday, Twitter Inc. has confessed that it may have accidentally collected and shared location data of some of its users with an advertising partner, who access its app through Apple devices.

Twitter in a blog post claims that the information they had collected wasn’t intentionally retained but only existed in their systems for a short interval and they have already informed the Apple users’ whose accounts were impacted to let them know the problem has been fixed.

However, the advertising partner didn’t receive any such data of user’s Twitter handle or unique account id, which could have denied identity, informed the tech giant.

More details are awaited.
