Vistara to be the first Indian carrier to offer Wi-Fi connectivity from Friday on its Boeing 787 Dreamliner that currently plying to and from the Delhi-London route.
The Initial network service will be free for all passengers as an introductory offer. Later the airliner will announce the tariff plan. Vistara is also planning to start the service on its A321 neo Aircraft too.
Vistara is having two Dreamliners into their fleet. So far the connectivity service is provided only by the big foreign airliners from the Gulf, Europe on their flight to and from India.
The service will allow its passengers to access the internet on Wi-Fi enabled devices. So far the tariff is not yet set, however as per a leading airline charges it is expected the plan would be no more than $3-6 (depending upon the duration of flight) for unlimited text-only chats and plans for that foreign airline for the whole flight costs $10-20 (depending upon the duration of flight).
During the free promotional period, Vistara will gather the information from the passengers on system functionality and feedback on overall experience so that they can provide the top end service later on the paid plan.
