Meghan Markle wore an exemplary button-down for a special reading of her children’s book The Bench. Post-announcement of her engagement with Prince Harry, the world’s eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle and her style.
The previous year, Meghan Markle made the incredibly classic button-down shirts her go-to top for virtual appearances. As she did attend a few in-person events since, this week she was back on camera, wearing none other than the attractive and engaging shirting staple.
In a new video, the Duchess of Sussex speaks about and reads from her new children’s book The Bench on the YouTube channel of Brightly Storytime. It’s as unrefined as the tailored, baby blue cotton-top she was sporting, in Anine Bing’s best-selling Classics Collection.
Selling for below $200 and available to buyers in several colors, Markle’s button-down was the perfect garden Storytime look. The oversized fit was approachable, and the free and easy manner she had rolled up the sleeves facilitated in bringing her inner kindergarten teacher out. The royal-turned-author finished the look with a Jennifer Meyer tennis bracelet, a gold oval pendant necklace, and vintage Cartier jewelry. It is a bit fancier compared to what you’d ideally find at a public library reading. Markle’s tranquil demeanor as she talks through her latest passion project does give you all the warm feelings that come from listening to a great story.
