Explosives, Literature Seized From Right-Wing Activist’s Maharashtra Home
The Explosives which are seized from the house of the activist is kept under examination in order to identify whether it packs RDX said an official.
The Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad has apprehended a huge quantity of explosives from his residence at Nallasopara in Pahghar district.
Vaibhav Raut, a Hindu Govansh Raksha Samiti member was detained from Bhandar Aali in Nallasopara West on late Thursday.
“ATS sleuths raided his residence and shop where they found a huge quantity of explosives, including crude bombs. Some literature was also seized,” said an official.
After Raut had been taken into custody the ATS team headed to Mumbai where they would interrogate him. An official said that Vaibhav Raut could be produced in front of a court this afternoon.
Raut’s arrest was termed as “Malegaon part II” by the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti. The Malegaon case revolves around the bomb explosions that took place near the Bhiku Chowk in the Muslim dominated Malegaon town of Nashik. The explosion had taken six lives and 101 people were injured.
“Vaibhav Raut is a daring cow protector. He was active through an organization- Hindu Govansh Raksha Samiti – dedicated to the protection of cows,” HJS state organizer Sunil Ghanvat said, adding, “He used to participate in the programmes and agitations organized through uniting Hindu organizations under the aegis of HJS.”
Furthermore, it was claimed that Raut had no role in any such programmes since the past few months. “The incidents of needless harassment of activists of Hindu organizations to implicate them in false cases, etc are not new anymore. This has been amply proved through Malegaon case and the arrest of many innocent seekers of Sanatan Sanstha,” – said Ghanvat.
