Supreme Court adjourns matter of Article 35A, till last week of August
The Supreme Court will heed a PIL (Public Interest Litigation) challenges today, regarding the validity of Article 35-A. Since Sunday, in support of Article 35A, the matter has been shutting down, which assures special advantages to the state.
Over this matter, the Supreme Court heeded a batch of petitions. It included the one covered by “We the Citizen’s”, which is an NGO that connects with RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh), in search for repealing of the article.
Amarnath Yatra has also been propounded as a precautionary measure. To join the Yatra, over 100 pilgrims campaigned in Jammu. The official reports that on 3,880 meter high, Amarnath the holy cave shrine in South Kashmir, pilgrims were not allowed on Sunday from the Bhagwati Nagar camp.
In support of the Article 35-A, the valley encountered peaceful protest on Sunday, this restricted people from outside Jammu and Kashmir to hold any permanent property in the state.
Today at 11:06 am (IST), Supreme Court adjourned the hearing of Article 35-A for two weeks, which is till now final over this matter.
