Panaji: Manohar Parrikar (62) the Goa Chief minister will be flying to the US on August 9 for a medical check-up and expected to be back in the end of the month revealed a senior officer. As per report, Mr. Parrikar is suffering from a pancreatic ailment and on March 7,2018 he had flown to US for the treatment and back to the country June 17,2018. Due to the treatment is half done, so, Mr. Parrikar will be going for the further treatment.
According to the sources, On August 3, the Goa Legislative Assembly had passed urging the Centre to suitably amend the Goa, Daman and Diu Mining Concessions (Abolition and Declaration as Mining Leases) Act, to allow mining leases in the state to be operational till 2037.
The Union government also amend the mines and minerals (Regulation and Development) Act in order to give mining leases in Goa a 50 year tenure of operation.
