On Tuesday, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Raman Singh announced that the smart city, Naya Raipur will be renamed to “Atal Nagar”. This plan was initiated to show respect and honor the 10th Prime Minister of India Mr. Vajpayee, who took his last breath on August 16 at 5:05 pm in New Delhi.
After the Raipur Cabinet meeting, Mr. Singh made the announcement. He not only wanted the state name but also the Bilaspur University, State Capital Expressway, a Medical College and Central Park (under-construction) to be named after Late Mr. Vajpayee.
November 1 is celebrated in Chhattisgarh as the states Foundation Day, the government decides to honor people with awards, who have served the society for a long time. Therefore, the government named the award as “Atal Sushashan Awards.”
