Kumaraswamy to take oath as the chief minister of Karnataka today. Betwixt a fierce battle for ministerial berths, Congress announced that G Parameshwara would take oath in as the deputy chief minister preceding HD Kumaraswamy.
On Wednesday Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy is to take oath as the 25 th CM of Karnataka. A cluster of leaders of the opponent party including Congress President Rahul Gandhi, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee, Vijayan, Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, Bahujan Samaj Party Chief Mayawati, Akhilesh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party, Ajit Singh of the Rashtriya Lok Dal, Tejaswi Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, and Kamal Hassan are to show up before the seat of power in Bengaluru.
“It has been decided that of the 34 (possible) berths, Congress will get 22 positions including deputy CM while JD(S) will get 12 positions including the chief minister.”- said the general secretary of Congress KC Venugopal. In the seam of a brutal discord in the party for a ministerial berth, the party announced that only, Karnataka Congress committee president ‘Dr. G Parameshwara’ would take oath in as Deputy Chief Minister along with KC Venugopal.
The Rashtriya Basava Sena summoned MB Patil saying that he would be made the deputy CM as a Muslim leader and a member of the minority community. Other MLA’s have also eyed upon holding a ministerial position. The coalition comprises of 117 members in the newly formed assembly, which is a sporadic number of 5 members.
“There are no differences of opinion within our coalition partners or within parties as being reflected by the media. We will ensure that everything progresses smoothly.” – said Kumaraswamy in a lather to negotiations between the two partners.
