Jammu and Kashmir: Mini Bus Plunges over 300 Feet 13 dead

Kishtwar: In Kishtwar, Jammu, and Kashmir, a minibus packed with passengers skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge due to which at least 13 persons were killed. The accident occurred when the driver of the minibus, was on its way to Kishtwar from the Keshwan area, lost its control of it and the vehicle plunged over 300-foot gorge, near the Chenab river bed.

According to the Superintendent of Police (SSP), Rajinder Gupta said that “ so far 13 people are confirmed dead and 13 others injured”

Mr. Gupta who is leading the rescue operation said that “ the bus was carrying over 30 passengers when its plunge in soon after that we immediately launched the rescue operation.

The Deputy commissioner Angrez Singh Rana mentioned that “ the district administration was making effort to airlift eight critically injured passengers to Jammu. He further added that the next of the Kin of the deceased will be given an ex gratia relief of Rs. 5 Lakh each, Rs 50,000 will be given to each of the injured persons”

Over the incident, Mehbooba Mufti has tweeted with her condolences.

On the other end, Jammu and Kashmir Transport Commissioner SP Vaid Tweeted by sharing the pained at loss of precious lives.

In one month this is the third major accident in Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir
