On Uttar Pradesh Highway, a part of an under-constructed flyover collapses today early in the morning at Basti district. It badly injured a laborer, who was operating at the site. He has immediately been admitted to a local UP Hospital.
Eyewitnesses of the collapse report that the iron beams, which was holding the weight of the flyover appeared to have sunk into the ground, the reason behind the collapse. For the last two weeks, the area has been under water and extreme rains have already created much trouble.
However, under the waste of the under-constructed flyover, two people are trapped. The flyover was construction on National Highway 28, which is almost 205km away from Lucknow, reports source.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath orders the local authorities to fasten the rescue operation to ensure that the National Highway traffic does not get affected.
Last week, the heavy rain troubled a car with four people on the service road of the Agra-Lucknow Expressway. There were no expected causalities of the car driver, but the rain did it all.
In this year May, a part of an under-constructed flyover also collapsed in Varanasi, which killed took away several lives.
