In Gauri Lankesh Case, for ‘Harbouring’ suspect 12th got arrested

In the murder case of journalist-activist Gauri Lankesh, a 37-years old hotelier got arrested from Belagavi. He was charged with harboring two of the suspects in the case, reports police.

Bharat Kurne, who lives in Sambhaji Gali’s Belagavi, had ‘harboured’ the main suspect of the crime Amole Kale as well as Parashuram Waghmare, a sharpshooter of the lady journalist, Special investigating team officer reports. Including this men, the total number of men got arrested for the journalist murder case has now risen to 12.

The investigating officer reports PTI that “we have arrested one Bharat Kurne. He has been remanded to judicial custody (by a court) and we have applied for police custody.”

Mr. Kurne got arrested and his custody hearing has been posted for Friday, said police.

Ms. Lankesh was an opposition of Hindutva. She was shot dead on 2017 September 5, by two passer-by bikers, who were targeting her near her house in Bengaluru, triggered her outrage.

Therefore, her murder is yet not solved and PTI looking forward to resolving the issue soon.
