Dalit Atrocities Law is under Big Protest by Center
On Wednesday, the Union Cabinet gave its nod to restore a bill regarding the original provision of a law on violence against Tribals and Dalits, agree to Dalit group’s actual demand ahead of the cal for ‘Bharat Bandh’ on 9th August, reports a top government source.
This bill demands the restoration of original provisions of ST (Scheduled Tribes) and SC (Scheduled Castes) Act will be raised in Parliament, he said.
The Supreme Court already in early March introduces certain safety measures, reports Dalit leaders as well as organization, diluting the Act and projected its incapacity.
Lok Janshakti Party and BJP supporter President Ram Vilas Paswan had lead the call to introduce a new law to turn over orders of the court. However, the majority of ruling party lawmakers belongs to Tribal and Dalit communities has also supported the demand.
