App Cab Drivers threaten to go off the Road

Mumbai March 20- The drivers of country’s two major app cab operators have threatened to go off the road for an indefinite period of time on Monday . They were demanding for a better pay package as the number of the cabs became very less in recent times .Also the cutbacks in incentive payment was also a matter of serious concern for the aggrieved drivers according to the media.

The strike began on Suinday midnight and was announced by the transport union of Maharashtra Navanirman Sena.The party leader confirmed that the drivers from other cities like New Delhi , Bengaluru Chennai, Hydereabad and Pune also participated in a meeting held on Saturday. Sanjay Naik , the president of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has said that the driver were going through a hugh financial crisis but the app –cab operators are favouring people who drive company owned vehicles.

Uber has refused to comment on the issue for the time being but when contacted a spokesperson of Ola told the media it was very difficult to measure the impact of the strike in a so quickly. The commuters had a harrowing time to reach their destinations due to the indefinite strike called by the drivers of the app cabs.
