Mumbai rain update: City lashes with floods, train and buses get affected badly

Mumbai rain update: On Monday, rain bash on Mumbai roads, transport get affected badly. Residents and local public suffering from flooded streets and traffic snarls. Due to heavy downpour, several schools were also shut down. The Western (WR) and Central Railway (CR) of Mumbai were running late around 15- 20 minutes due to waterlogged tracks and causing misery for morning peak commuters.

The Met official said that the city had received heaviest rainfall in 24 hours and it was hit with 144.47 mm of rain. Met official also said that the extreme rainfall will be seen at some isolated districts like Greater Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Raigad between 10th to 13th July. The official also gave weather alert for Uttarakhand, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and Maharashtra region.

Mumbai Dabbawalas Association`s said “ We did not collect the tiffins, because of the waterlogged across the city. Our people find hard to wade through their cycle in the knee-deep water”. We also service today.

Train Services: between Vasai and Virar to remain suspended until further information said ANI.

Western Railway’s update: the services of AC local have been suspended on 10.07.2018 in view of very heavy rains and water logging around Nallasopara, till further information.
