Live video chat suicide attempted by Class XII boy

Kolkata: On Wednesday,  Student of Class XII boy committed suicide during a live video chat with his girlfriend with whom he had a relationship. The incident took place on Wednesday midnight in Baruipur. FIR lodged by victim mother against the girl.  Without wasting a time police reached the spot and lodged a complaint against the girl with under section 306 (abetment to suicide) of IPC (Indian Penal Code). Police also retrieved the phone from the spot as an evidence.

“I went to bed around 12 am. An hour later, some of his friends came rushing to our house and frantically knocked on the door. When I opened the door, one of them told me that my son had committed suicide by hanging himself in his room,” the mother of the victim said in her statement. later, She also added that the victim’s had a heated altercation with someone over the phone.

SP Saikat Ghosh of Baruipur Police District said “We are leaving no stones unturned. We will look into the phones after it tested by the forensics. We will check all the videos and try to find the truth. As if now his phone is a Vital evidence”.

Around 1 am, I received a call from the girl. I was a bit surprised. She was so scared that I could not understand what she was saying. It took me a few seconds to understand what she wanted to say. I was crestfallen when I heard from her he had hanged himself on Camera. I did not waste a minute and rushed to his home with a hope we might be able to save him. But all was over by the time we reached said a victim friend.

Police continue their investigation into this matter and trying to figure out the reason behind this incident. The victim family members were under shocked and not in a condition to talk. The victim mother did not have clue that her son was thinking to end his life for a girl. She knows about the relationship and she also found that her son was depressed but could not be recognized what next step her son is going to take.
