Women Bangs Car Window to Get Rescued from Cabbie

Latest Bengaluru News: A women abducted by an Ola cab driver saved herself by banging on the car windows and catching the attention of other motorists. Others car drivers chased the car and blocked the cab near a toll plaza. The car drivers pulled the cabbie out and called the PCRP. Chikkajala Police arrested him. The cabbie was identified as Suresh Kumar (28). The woman is an employee of a private company. She had booked a cab to go to the airport around 11:30 pm.

The women told Police in her statement that she was worried about the time she got into the vehicle as she could smell alcohol. She also said“I realized the driver was drunk. He kept looking at me through the rearview mirror. I covered my face with a shawl and pretended to doze. At Yelahanka Junction, he speeded up,”.“I shouted at him to stop  the vehicle but he continued.”At toll plaza, I started shouting and banging on the window which alerted other drivers and saved me.”

A senior police officer said that the 30- year-old women were on her way to the airport around midnight when the cab driver sped past the airport exit. She was braved and showed the presence of mind. Otherwise, the driver would have got away with the kidnapping.
