Atal Bihari Vajpayee admitted in hospital; Modi, Rahul Gandhi visit former PM at AIIMS

The former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee detected with urinary tract infection and was kept under evaluation by AIMS.

The 10th prime minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee was rushed to AIMS in a critical condition. On Monday the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi admitted the former Indian Prime minister. Narendra Modi, Congress President Rahul Gandhi, and the BJP Chief Amit Shah went to visit him in the hospital.

The medical institution said that the former Prime Minister has been a victim to urinary tract infection was under “investigation and evaluation”. JP Nadda the Union Health Minister said at a press conference that Vajpayee visited the hospital for a regular examination.

On Monday a health bulletin was released by AIMS saying that Vajpayee has spotted with “a urinary tract infection for which appropriate treatment has been closely monitored and treated by a team of doctors”.

Currently, Vajpayee is out of danger and has been under the supervision of the chief doctor of AIMS ‘Dr. Randeep Guleria’. The team of doctors packs a gastroenterologist, Dr. Pramod Garg, and nephrologist, Dr. Soumita Bagchi.

While the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a tweet saying- “PM @narendramodi visited former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee at AIIMS today. He was at AIIMS for about 50 minutes…The Prime Minister interacted with family members of Shri Vajpayee. He also spoke to doctors and enquired about the health of Shri Vajpayee,”

Vajpayee who ruled the country from a full term between 1998 and 2004 had a stroke in the year 2009 which impeded his speech. He was honored with the Bharat Ratna, in 2015.

Rahul Gandhi was the first among the people who were at the side of the former prime minister. Vajpayee’s former colleagues, senior BJP leaders LK Advani, home minister Rajnath Singh, Nadda and Murli Manohar Joshi also visited the hospital.
