Russell Crowe holds ‘Divorce’ auction, sells movie props for almost $3 million

Costumes from about two hundred of his movies along with some props went under the hammer. The movies included famous names like Gladiator, Master and Commander, LA Confidential and The Insider.

Some of the items included were a chariot of the Roman style, a gold watch of Rolex, a leather jock strap and a 128-year-old violin, all of which belonged to the famous Australian actor Russell Crowe which have been sold in the auction and have fetched more than $ 2.8 million dollars.

The title of the auction has been set as “The Art of Divorce” which was held this Saturday at Sydney and it pulled in some dozen of buyers and spectators. The day of the auction was fixed as to what would have been his 15th wedding anniversary with his former wife Danielle Spencer and also the fifty-fourth birthday of Crowe.

Among the items were some really unusual ones which included the fossil of a reptile skull that dates back to the era of the dinosaur, this skull was previously owned by the famous US actor Leonardo Di Caprio which got sold for $60886.

Crowe himself made a very surprise appearance to the auction and was cheerfully welcomed by the probable buyers present there.
