In praising the talent and skills of Harivansh, for the first time House members from Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal, PM Modi said, “Harivansh Ji is well read and has written a lot. He has served society for years.”

62-years BJP-elected Harivansh is an ex-Chief editor of the newspaper “Prabhat Khabar” of Ranchi, Jharkhand. He is portrayed as a Rajya Sabha member, who has friends across the political scale. Harivansh was associated with JP (Jai Prakash Narayan), who is a popular socialist to get headed by the opposition party against the emergency rule of Indira Gandhi.

PM Modi continued, “Today we mark the anniversary of the Quit India Movement. Harivansh ji hails from Ballia, a land linked with freedom fighters. He had been inspired by Loknayak JP.”

Modi ji’s call to BJD leader Naveen Patnaik was one of the main reasons of support that helped the Mod-government nominated members to score the maximum number of vote for the position of Deputy Chairman in Rajya Sabha. The YSR Congress, Trinamool Congress and DMK Lawmaker abstained.
