On Sunday night, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira set the stage on fire during the Super Bowl LIV Pepsi halftime show with their energetic dance moves. The Latina superstars surprised the crowd with their greatest hits.
The event was organized at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, and both the women showcased soaring vocals and thunderous dance routines. Shakira said, ‘Hola, Miami,” before starting her performance. She started her impressive belly dance with “rope dance” wrapping a rope around her waist and body.
The crowd of 65,000 people got on their feet when Shakira opened “She Wolf” and “Whenever, Whenever”. Puerto Rican reggaeton singer Bad Bunny later joined her for a few lines of “I Like It” after that, she performed in her iconic hit, “Hips Don’t Lie”.
Next, Jennifer Lopez appeared atop a miniature Empire State Building. After a few bars of “Jenny From the Block,” Jenny herself took the crowd through a medley of “Love Don’t Cost A Thing”, “Get Right” and “On the Floor”, her transitions as fast and sharp as her dance moves.
Jennifer came on the stage wearing a black leather jumpsuit, but she soon shed that revealing a skinny silver dress. She gave an excellent pole performance to “Waiting For Tonight”, alongside Colombian reggaeton star J Balvin.
Her daughter Emme came to the stage, and several other small children surrounded the stage performing referring to a President Donald Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy launched in 2018. The system separated thousands of children from their parents at the border.
Jennifer then came back on the stage wearing an American flag feather cape. Then Shakira came back and both the singers took the centre of the scene in a fringed golden and silver outfit giving fabulous dance moves for “Waka Waka”. The dance performance was later posted on Twitter by many praising the women’s skills with the hashtags #Latinas and #Latinapower.
