Diljit Dosanjh movie ‘Soorma’ hits the silver screen

Bollywood movie ‘Soorma’ hits the screen drawing the attention of the viewers. The movie is directed by Shaad Ali featuring Diljit Dosanjh, Taapsee Pannu, Angad Bedi, Vijay Raaz, Danish Hussain, Satish Kaushik, Kulbhushan Kharbanda. It is released on 13 July 2018.

It is based on a real story and also a biopics of inspiring injured hockey player who is made a comeback against all odds and won. The film is a biopic of Sandeep Singh also known as Flicker Singh who gained fame as the fastest ‘drag-flick’ player ever, to score the goals. It also shows the challenges that face by the hockey player after the shocking incident which leads him to paralysis and the tough painful journey back to the field. The film also shows the love side of the player who falls in love with the bright-eyed Harpreet role play by Taapsee who is an equal dab hand with the stick and who wants to play for India as much as he does.

The biopic of a hockey player is not easy for Diljit Dosanjh as he never plays hockey ever in his life and doesn’t know how to use the hockey stick on the field. So, it is a most challenging role for singer and music composer to play this role. As per sources Sandeep Singh helped in choreographing the play.  On the other end, it is also interesting for audiences to see first-time Diljit as Sportsperson.

There are other powerful supporting roles that shows the interesting facts of the movie: Angad Bedi as the older brother who lives his dreams of being in the national team through his sibling, Dinesh Hussain reminiscent of so many real-life coaches who threaten to ruin players if their whims, Vijay Raaz as the flavourful senior coach who shows us the more humane side of the sport.

Soorma movie stands with a great biopic but what exactly has been cooked inside the movie that is most interesting part to watch. The movie already received a good feedback from the critics and hoping for the smashed response from the audiences.
